Hi
I had an exision biopsy on the outer edge of the sole of my foot on 2nd June. It was to remove a 3mm dysplastic mole with a 2mm margin. I was given dissolvable stitches with additional steri-strips. I took a full week off work to aid recovery.
I believe its healing well. There's been no pain or bleeding, just tenderness at the exision site. Four days after the procedure I was moving well around the house wearing slippers and putting my weight on the ball of my foot.
I've been back at work these past couple of days and even though my job is a desk one, I'm finding wearing normal shoes and walking on a different floor quite uncomfortable. I'm using a crutch for support, but things like walking to and from the bus stop is quite difficult.
The exision area feels far more tender in regular shoes and I worry I'm creating unnecessary pressure walking about in work.
My question is, did I possibly go back to work too soon and should I have given myself another week for recovery. I really don't want to inhibit healing. On the other hand, is this just part of the normal healing process and I just need to get used to normal activity?
