Have been told I’ve got a 15-20cm cancerous growth in the Sigmoid section of my bowel, I also saw it on the colonoscopy. Very upset and anxious as I wait for the call to go meet the MDT team.

Hello swaneagle and thanks for posting
I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis and imagine this is an anxious time for you.
I hope you have some family and friends around you to support you through this time.
At this point in time it really is about waiting and seeing what the MDT (Multi Disciplinary Team) decide the best way forward is in terms of treatment for you. This is where specialist doctors come together to discuss individual patients. After the MDT has occurred the specialist doctor assigned will discuss this with you.
In the meantime you may wish to read our section about bowel cancer. Although every patient cancer is different and what treatment one person needs may look different to some one else. Therefore it may be worth hanging on and waiting to find out more about your individual situation.
Try and take things a day at a time for now, if you can keep yourself busy whilst you are waiting this can sometimes help pass the time, but I appreciate this is not easy to do.
Please get back to us if you need any more information or support. You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.
Wishing you all the best,
Take care
Naomi
