I'm sorry your son has been diagnosed with oesophageal cancer. This must be a difficult time for you all.
PET scan results are usually available within 2 or 3 weeks .Unfortunately, we can't tell you exactly how long your son will have to wait to get your results as there will be some regional variations in different NHS Trusts.
But, if he doesn't hear anything in the next week or two, then he can ask his GP to enquire, or he ring his specialist/consultant secretary.
