Thickened endometrium

Hi,

I finally had a TV ultrasound yesterday to investigate pain, irregular bleeding and pretty extreme bloating. I'm 44 years old. My results are an enlarged, bulky, globular uterus and hard to delinate endometrium. But the parts they could see were measuring at 11mm. They've also said it looks like I have adenomyosis.

I don't have an appointment for another week when the doctor want to see me, I'm just wondering if I can expect a biopsy based on the 11mm thickness?

If anyone could share experiences, that would be really helpful.

Thank you

  • Hello and thanks for posting,

We can't tell you exactly what the doctor has in mind. But if they want further clinical information, and to confirm a diagnosis, then they may suggest a hysteroscopy procedure to take biopsies.

The NHS Website has more information here.

I hope that you get to find out more soon about your situation.

    Best wishes,

    Vanda
