Bladder cancer/endometrial cancer

Hi I am on my final cystoscopy check this autumn for bladder cancer but during my holiday I had a bleed which I thought could be the return of the bladder cancer. When I returned from holiday i went to get it checked and now find myself  on the 2 week referral to the gynaecology dept at the local hospital. My question is how likely is it to be endometrial cancer. My appointment is 5th June.

  • Hello and thanks for your post

I’m afraid I cannot say how likely it is that you have endometrial cancer. There could be many medical explanations for vaginal bleeding aside from cancer and a lot of people who are referred to the hospital with this sort if problem turn out to have something else the matter. But until you know what is going on it can be worrying and of course it needs to be checked out.

Waiting in circumstances like this is never easy but I’m afraid there is no real way round this. Some people find talking it through with family and friends and keeping busy can sometimes help.

I hope your appointment comes through soon and it isn't too long before you know more.

Give us a ring if you would like to talk anything over. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Kind regards,
