Hello and thanks for your post
I don’t know what specific advice you were given at the hospital about looking after your excision site. It’s important to wash the area with lukewarm water and pat dry with a cloth or soft towel or use a cool hair dryer after going to the toilet.
This helps with soothing the area and relieving the itching. When you have your bowels open, make sure that you wipe the skin in a direction away from the vulva, to keep the biopsy site as clean as possible.
If you feel that the itching or irritation is getting worse then do ring the hospital for further advice or speak to your GP.
I hope this is of use. Give us a ring if you would like to talk things over. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.
Kind regards,
Celene
