  • Hello rebornmum,

Just wanted to let you know that our nurses are currently unavailable over the weekend and bank holiday Monday and they will respond on their return. You can also give them a call on 0808 800 4040 if you would like to talk things through with them before your appointment - their line is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm (but closed this bank holiday Monday)

Best of luck for the MRI on Wednesday,

    Lucie

  • Hello and thanks for your post,

I can understand how stressful it can be waiting for the results of tests.

Without being involved in your care it is very difficult to comment on your situation.

Often a variety of tests are needed for a doctor to help diagnose a patient. It is not uncommon to have a CT scan and an MRI as they both provide different information for the doctor.

An MRI (Magnetic resonance imaging) uses magnetism and radio waves to take pictures of inside your body. Your doctors may feel that this will provide them with more information then an ultrasound but of course I can't be sure.

I am sure that you will have a follow up appointment after your different tests so do ask the doctors involved in your care.

I am sure that the doctors involved in your care will have consulted with each other as to the best tests to do to help diagnose what is going on.

If you would like to talk any of this through with one of the helpline nurses then you are welcome to give us a call.

Our number is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the nurses are here Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm.

    All the best,

    Catherine
