An ovarian cyst was found in my pelvis during an MRI scan of my lower spine (I had an extrded disc six months ago). In January I was sent for a transvaginal scan and was told it was a simple cyst. I have seen the Gynae and been asked if I would be happy with monitoring or surgery. I asked for both ie, regular scans and if symptoms get worse, then surgery. Since then I have heard nothing, but I have notice that the area around the cyst aches if I walk for any length of time or sit too long on a journey. The cyst was measured as over 7cms. I am 68. I am scared of cancer as I have had triple negative breast cancer 10 years ago which I have been fortunate enought to survive. What would your advice be on this? Should I have another scan asap? Is surgery advised?
