I am afraid that we cannot tell you why you need to have a scan now. 

It could be to check how the area looks after surgery, it could also be to check for any signs that the cancer has spread.  It might be quite a routine thing to do. However, your only way of knowing for sure is to talk with your dermatology team or possibly just wait for the results of the scan.
