It is never easy waiting to get results. Regardless of how someone receives results from the doctor, there is no way of knowing what the results will show, so try not to over think things for now.

Unfortunately looking things up on line isn't helpful until you have all the information and the full facts from your mum's doctor. This often can cause more worry than help when you don't really know what the biopsy has or hasn't shown.

Hopefully your mum hasn't too much longer to wait to find out more. It sounds like you are supporting her through this time so do take care of yourself and try and take things one step at a time.
