Hemorrhoid in my Buttocks

Hi, I've noticed a lump in my buttocks that's been bleeding and sometimes painful for almost a month. I'm concerned it might be hemorrhoids or something more serious like cancer. Can you help me determine what it could be and what steps I should take? I am so worried

  • I've noticed a persistent lump in my left buttock that's been bleeding and painful for almost a month or more maybe. Despite using germoloid cream for piles and ketoconazole cream, there's been no improvement. Additionally, I've been using powder or talc in my private areas after bathing because i feel uncomfortable as these areas stay wet after shower and so I apply it. I'm worried about what this could indicate and what steps I should take next. Can you provide guidance or recommend a course of action?

  • Hi Dileep and thank you for your post.

I’m sorry you are worried about lumps in your buttocks and can understand you wanting to find out more.

I'm afraid we are unable to diagnose or tell if anything is the matter. Symptoms can have straightforward medical explanations; such as haemorroids.

But only a doctor can make a medical assessment as they are trained to assess symptoms and can arrange tests if they feel it’s necessary to try to find out what might be going on.

I hope you know more about your situation soon.

Please get back to us if you need any more information or support.  You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Kind regards,

    Tina
