Is solpadene just another name for co-codamol? If so, that tends to be fine on an empty stomach. The only meds you need to watch when empty are things like ibuprofen and certain antibiotics. Taking food with Ibuprofen simply dilutes the effects on the stomach. But I've been on 30/500mg of co-codamol for a good while due to a back issue and never had any stomach issues and i take them first thing in the morning.

What i will say about any medicine that contains codeine, it can cause your bowels to slow down. Hence, why it's renowned for causing constipation, so I'm not really sure if it goes well when cleaning out your bowels. Should be fine, though. Like any meds, each person may have different reactions, so you could get a more sensitive stomach, but it won't damage it as NSAID's do.

Yeah, good luck. You probably feel similar to what you feel like having a stomach bug, but without the stomach pain. That washed out feeling. It will be dehydration, coupled with lack of food.

Taking medication with water is fine before a colonoscopy. Patients with chronic conditions who are on long-term medications who need this procedure would also need to do the same.
