CIN2 cervical cell treatment

Hi there,

I am being treated for CIN 2 cervical cells mutation and I just got my period. I cannot find any information on the letters or online as to whether I can still be treated if I am on my period. Can anyone help answer this?

best wishes

  • Hello Maya and thank you for posting.

I think it would be best to contact the unit where you are having the treatment for abnormal cells. Although doctors prefer to treat patients when they are between periods, they are well used to women coming on unexpectedly, so it may not be an issue. But, by contacting them beforehand, it will help you feel better going into the treatment.

Please get back to us if you need any more information or support.  You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9 am till 5 pm, Monday to Friday.

    Take care,

    Sarah.
