  • Hello Sz49 and thanks for posting

I am sorry to hear about your current situation and appreciate what a worrying time this must be for you.

Whilst it is natural to feel scared, hopefully once you have had your appointment and seen the specialist you will feel a little more in control of the situation.

You specialist will discuss the biopsy results with you and the plan moving forward regarding treatment. Do remember to ask them any questions you may have at the time but hopefully they will cover most things with you.

At this point in time no one can tell you much more i'm afraid. Low grade Non Hodgkin (NHL) Lymphomas are often than not slow growing and whilst treatment may be needed to control these types of lymphoma they are usually very treatable. On occasions low grade NHL can turn into high grade NHL, meaning they are more aggressive and fast growing, that can be more difficult to treat and usually involve more intensive treatment.

The doctors will discuss the treatment with you and what they feel is best in your situation whilst taking into account your general health and fitness levels. Treatment may involve chemotherapy, radiotherapy or other targeted drugs.

Try not to over think things until you have all the information from team looking after you. Do remember they will be wanting the very best for you to give you the greatest outcome.

Please get back to us if you need any more information or support.  You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Naomi
