Lump on testicle

Hello,

I am 20 years old international student living in UK, I have had a lump on one of my testicle for 7 years and i havent died. But ive decided to get it checked. Are there any place in London where i can do this, will the NHS be able to help?

  • Hi and thank you for your post,

I am sorry to learn about your situation.

Cancer Research UK primarily funds research and clinical trials. Unfortunately, we do not fund treatment or provide hospital services.

Most testicular lumps and bumps are not due to cancer, particularly if you have had them for a long time. But it makes sense to get advice from a doctor about anything that is concerning you.

The NHS website has information on testicle lumps and swellings which may be helpful.

You may also like to read  'A guide to the NHS for international students in the UK'  which may give you more information on whether you are eligible for NHS treatment.  If you are not eligible may need to pay for treatment if you are not a UK resident. You can access a Private GP, if a NHS GP is not possible.

Universities often provide campus GP services for their students, so do enquire.

The Private Health  website has information about private hospitals/services in the UK.

I am sorry that we cannot help you more directly, but I hope the information at the links I have provided will be useful.

Please get back to us if you need any more information or support.  You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    All the best

    Tina
