All combined my every day life has been seriously impacted. I have an ecg booked and more bloods but i am really worried about how long this will go on as i have radiotherapy 8th may and feel like my heart has been impacted by chemo.

Please if you have had experience of this would love to hear from you.

  • Hello Nikki and thank you for your post.

I am very sorry to hear how your breast cancer treatment is affecting you. I can appreciate your concern.

It seems that your cancer team know about your symptoms as they have arranged tests for you. However, if your symptoms, get worse while you are waiting please let your breast cancer team know or call the NHS on 111 for advice and help.

The ECG will be able to look at how your heart is working and to see if the chemotherapy has affected it. I am afraid that you will need to wait until you have had this done so that the doctors can see if your heart has been affected.  The side effects of chemotherapy will usually get better or go once the treatment has finished.

Please get back to us if you need any more information or support.  You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Yours sincerely,

    Caroline
