Hello and thanks for your post
I’m sorry you are having tests and investigations and I can imagine how unsettling this must be for you.
A thickened womb lining may mean you have a condition called endometrial hyperplasia. This is a non-cancerous condition but it does increase the risk of womb cancer which is why the doctors want to perform the tests you mention. But this increase in risk is generally quite low and most women with endometrial hyperplasia will not develop womb cancer.
There is some NHS information about endometrial hyperplasia and we have some information on our website on the risk factors for womb cancer.
I hope you know more about your situation soon. Give us a ring if you would like to talk things over. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.
Kind regards,
Celene
