Hello Gordgrc and thank you for your post,
It would be worth checking with your stoma nurse/ colorectal nurse that this is something to expect, as they know your situation and what type of surgery you have had.
It is possible to continue to pass mucus and wind through the anus following an ileostomy. Everyone's situation is different. Sometimes some people can get the feeling of passing wind but it might be mucous that is passed. It does take time for things to settle following an ileostomy.
Hopefully, you will get some more comments from other people's experiences, or it might be helpful to post on the 'living with cancer' thread on this forum where you may get more posts.
I hope this helps a little. Please get back to us if you need any more information or support. You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.
Tare care,
Jemma
