  • Hello Folashade1 and thanks for the post

I am sorry to hear about your situation. Do speak with your own specialist team about what the best treatment is for you alongside your work life.

There is more information about stereotactic radiotherapy on our website. As you say patients suitable for this type of radiotherapy will have between 1 and 8 doses. A dose is given per session usually over 1-2 weeks.

Whilst stereotactic radiotherapy is a more precise type of radiation that gives the strongest dose to the tumour site/s there can still be side effects. These will be generally less than standard radiotherapy techniques but it is difficult to say exactly how any patient will be, or how this may affect their everyday life.

Do speak with your specialist doctor to find out more.

Please get back to us if you need any more information or support.  You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Best wishes,

    Naomi
