I had colorectal operation on the Sigmoid about three weeks ago , i have a stoma fitted, i have noticed that my anus seems to ache is that normal ? thank you
You are still in the early stages of healing after your surgery. Muscles around the area will take several months to recover and settle more. It is not uncommon to have aches at this time. You can try and do some very gentle slow clenching exercises in that buttock area to try and tone up the muscles there.
Check in with your hospital specialist nurse if you have access to one, or else just let them know at your next follow up appointment, and they can hopefully reassure you that all is well.
