Tagrisso Osimertinib 80mg

Hi,

I'm new to the forum.  I have recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer.  I started the targeted therapy about 2 weeks ago.  All was going well until I had reaction - skin rash on both arms.  I have to stop treatment and was given a course antibiotic and cream for rash.

My question:  what is best time to take medication?  As before I took around 6.30pm with evening meal. Or does it not matter as long as it's the same time?

Thank you Carol-Lyn

  • Hello Carol-Lyn, thank you for posting, and welcome to the forum.

How to take the medication is dependent on what it is and how they've prescribed it for you. Sometimes they prescribe drugs to have specifically before, during or after food, other times it is just three times a day for example.

If it works for you to take the medication at 6.30 with your evening meal, and this does not contradict the advice on the box, then this is fine. The most important thing is taking all the medication and completing the course.

More patient information is available on Tagrisso Osimertinib on the EMC website.

Take care and if you have further questions you could also discuss this with your pharmacist or the unit where you are having treatment.
