Seborrheic keratosis

I went for a mole removal on the 1st March in which they said was a seborrheic keratosis, but was told as being sent off to be biopsied. I've just looked on the NHS app as was being nosy and it said on the waiting list section that had been updated on the 17th March that current status is awaiting treatment and start date is May. What does this mean?

Worried silly as was declared ned from breast cancer on 1st March.

  • Hello and thanks for your post

I'm afraid I can't explain what you have read on the NHS App. You would need to contact your GP or dermatology clinic for them to clarify your situation.

It may help you to know that seborrhoeic keratoses (SK) are benign growths caused by a build-up of skin cells. The British Association of Dermatologists have further information on their website.

I hope you know more about your situation soon. Give us a ring if you would like to talk anything over. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Kind regards,

    Celene
