Hormone therapy

Hi I finished my hormone therapy in December and

I’ve been on exemestane for 10 years following chemotherapy radiotherapy and herceptin.
Over the last week I have been getting a real heaviness in my affected breast it is a bit bigger and feels tingly.
do you think this is because I am no longer taking the hormone tablets?  I am 60 so been through the menopause.
I am a bit worried as it a strange feeling how long should I leave it to see if it goes away before I see someone please

  • Hello Seashells, and thank you for posting.

Anyone noticing anything new or unusual for them is best getting checked out by their GP. Or, if you still have contact with your team at the hospital you could call them.

Breasts can go through many changes and feelings during and after treatment, but it is still best to get assessed by a doctor.

Take care and if you find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline the number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040. The lines are open from 9 am till 5 pm, Monday to Friday.

    Sarah.
