On chemo and immunotherapy

Hi I’ve had 2 nd round of chemo and immune therapy I wasn’t to bad the first one but this one I’m def more tired and the first few days I kept getting hot and cold but not much of a temp but I keep  getting this really heavy dragging feeling is only how I can explain it like I have the weight of a whole house on my body is this Normal? Part of fatigue?

  • I am on round one, I get hot flushes and feet pain.  I would too also like to hear how others are coping.

  • Hi the flushes I get confused with menopause and are we ment to call the hotline it’s very confusing! It’s the dragging feeling I’m unsure about like my whole body is being pulled down? Is this fatigue hope it goes better for you

  • Hello and thanks for your post

I'm really sorry you are going through a tough time with your treatment.

People vary in the side effects that they experience but it sounds like the second round of treatment is hitting you harder, with feeling tired and with fluctuations in body temperature along with the heavy dragging feeling your are experiencing. These side effects can be challenging but hopefully they will improve soon.

Do let your healthcare team know if you feel that you are not improving. They will assess you and might have some suggestions on what might help. They may need to adjust or add to your medications that will hopefully help.

In the meantime try and rest as much as possible and it's also important to take some gentle exercise such as walking.

I hope things improve for you soon. Give us a ring if you would like to talk things over. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Kind regards,

    Celene
