I am sorry to learn that you need to have an anal biopsy. This must be a difficult time.
The above link will tell you what happens during the biopsy. Once the biopsy is taken it will be sent to the pathology laboratory for the cells to be examined closely under the microscope. It can take a couple of weeks or so before the results are known.
What happens after that will depend on what the biopsy has shown. If cancer is confirmed, you may need further tests and treatment will be planned.
The team at the hospital will be able to give you more information on the day of your test.
