Brain tumour face stiffness

Good morning, may I please ask if there’s any form of relief in the form of say a hand held device to help my friend massage her face from the tumours causing stiffness. As without her constantly massaging her face she gets pain, the right side of her face becomes tight. The left side has dropped from the tumours and don’t seem to cause her as much concern as the left. Thank you in advance for any advice

  • Hello and thanks for posting,

Unfortunately, we are not aware of any hand held device that would help with the discomfort.

Sometimes a warm wheat bag placed around the neck can help that area. Massage is probably the most beneficial as it helps to stimulate blood flow around the area and help with muscle stiffness. A referral to a hospital Pain Clinic might be useful, and a referral can be done by a patient's GP, or hospital specialist.

There is a NHS website page about help for your pain

and a page where one can search for their local pain services

I hope this reply is of some use,
