Hi,

My cancer: breast grade 2 idc and DCIs  Treatment was lumpectomy and radiotherapy, then tamoxifen for 5 years  

I read a lot of posts about people getting secondary cancer after having primary cancer. What are the chances of this, or what increases the risk?

    After a cancer diagnosis, the fear of recurrence can be overwhelming.

    It is impossible to predict with certainty who will experience a recurrence of cancer, if at all.

    You may find Breast Cancer Now webpage on breast cancer recurrence helpful.   The Royal Marsden also has information on the risks of breast cancer recurrence.

    It's important to remember that the risk of breast cancer recurring decreases over time.
