I got my diagnosis from my GP on Monday over the phone. I had kind of researched my blood test results and knew what the prognosis was.
How do I tell my family please?

Hello and thank you for your post,
I am sorry that you have been told by your GP about your diagnosis. It looks like from your post that it could be myeloma or MGUS .
You need to be sure about what you have been diagnosed with. This is because MGUS is a condition that can sometimes lead to myeloma. So, I think the best thing to do first is to wait to see what you are diagnosed with.
Telling anyone close to you about a serious health problem can be difficult. Therefore, it might help to have someone with you at the appointment when your diagnosis is discussed. This could be helpful in sharing the news of your diagnosis.
Remember that you do not need to have all the knowledge and answers. So, talking and sharing information about your diagnosis will help. Also signposting people to information and support may help too.
Please get back to us if you need any more information or support. You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.
Take care,
Caroline
