Should I be worried

Hello all.

I am currently in a bit of a panic mode and wondering if anyone has any thoughts.

i have had tummy pain and back pain plus watery, mushy bouts of diarrhoea on a daily basis from 2 to many times a day for the last 18 months.

i have had a FIT test and a colonoscopy, which doc said did not show anything of concern. Still my symptoms persist. And have now been referred back to specialist for further discussion/tests.

I am concerned that I may have small bowel cancer and what that could mean. Should I be looking out for something? What other symptoms should I be aware of?

thanks for any help anyone may have.

  • Hello Shelly, and thank you for posting.

I am sorry you have been having these symptoms but don't yet have an answer for them. But it is good to hear that the tests so far have been all clear.

It is difficult to say what may still be causing the symptoms you have, as many things go on in the bowel that have nothing to do with cancer.

The specialist will look into this for you and be the best person to assess and decide what further investigation is needed.

I am sorry we are unable to be more help, but hopefully, you will know more soon.

Take care Shelly, and if you want to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline the number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040. The lines are open from 9 am till 5 pm, Monday to Friday.

    Sarah.
