I had normal blood tests last week but have strong symptoms of oesophageal cancer. Waiting for an endoscopy . Is it good that my bloods are normal or would bloods be normal anyway
It is usually a combination of tests that helps to diagnose some one with cancer. You can still have a normal blood test with cancer.
There are many different gastric conditions other then cancer so try if you can not to overthink what it could be until after your endoscopy. If the doctors see an area that needs further investigations then they may take a biopsy. Any tissue that is removed is looked at by a pathologist under a microscope.
I can understand that it can be unsettling waiting so try if you can to keep your self busy and your mind on other things until you know more.
