Preinvasive or invasive

Please tell me the difference between preinvasive and invasive lung cancer.

Thank you

  • Hi Sharza and thank you for your post

Preinvasive lung lesions, may represent premalignant (cancer) to low-grade malignant lesions without evidence of invasion. This means they have not yet gained the ability to spread to other organs of the body.  Invasive cancer occurs when cancer cells have the ability to  break away from the primary site and can potentially spread to other parts of the body, via the lymphatic system or bloodstream.
