Help - suspected ovarian cancer

Hi!

I am at my wits end. No treatment plan (trying to remember that the less they panic the less serious it is) in place. Just been told the below after being admitted to hospital for severe and pains. Was discharged with same pains although not as serious and have now had to push for an appointment with anyone (seeing gynae this Saturday) to get some answers. Has anyone had a diagnoses in the same sort of position? X (I’m 37 and freaking out!!!

CT scan showed structure in the right pelvis measuring about 5cm which was bowel vs ovarian. Went on to have USS of pelvis which showed right ovary was enlarged and had an abnormal appearance. Seen  to be spherical with irregular contour and heterogeneous texture with atypical vascularity appearance and held high suspicion for malignancy

  • Hello gelly, and thank you for posting. I'm sorry you are going through a stressful time with all this.

Unfortunately, as we are nurses and not doctors we would not be able to give you any answers. On Saturday the doctors who know you and are very used to reading these reports will see you and be able to talk through what they feel is going on right now. It may be they need to do other tests to give them a clearer picture.

Waiting to hear exactly what is going on can be incredibly difficult, but no one can tell you anything else. Even if anyone on the forum comes back to you with a similar-sounding situation, they will have an experience individual to them.

Take care Gelly, and sorry we can not be more helpful. If you find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline the number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040, and the lines are open from 9 am till 5 pm, Monday to Friday.

    Sarah.
