Has anyone heard of this?

My partner had breast cancer which was successfully treated last year. The breast that had the cancer has come up in spots and rashes   It is also painful.   She can’t sleep at nights   She went to the surgeon last week to see if there were any developments on getting a date for work to be done on making them look better for her. The surgeon straight away said why haven’t you come to see me earlier and did three biopsies   She now has a two week wait to find out the result.  Can the pain, rashes and spots be an after reaction to the chemotherapy?  It’s only a year after she had the cancer

Sorry to be bothering you and thank you for reading this

kind regards

  • Hi and thank you for your post.

I'm sorry to read about your partner's situation.  It does sound like this is a difficult time for you both.

I am sorry your partner is having problems with a rash and pain on her breast, but I am afraid that I cannot say why this has happened, you will have to wait for the results of the biopsy. I really hope you know more soon.

I can imagine that it must be quite draining and difficult to cope with cancer treatments and waiting for biopsies. I wonder whether your partner would consider some counselling to get some help at this very difficult time. You can read about how to go about this here.

You may also find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Kind regards,

    Tina
