Diarrhoea help

Hiya

I am currently suffering nighttime diarrhoea. 2-3 times a night.  I was secerely constipated and rook laxido. I stopped that when I startef going regularly. About 3 nights later this started, and has been going on for  week, I am not sick and only have a slight belly ache.

My current illness I'd breadt cancer which I had in 2005, which I had treatment for and survived, now they say I have stage 4 bc plus I am now riddled with bone cancer. I am bed/chair bound. I was given the prognosis of 5 months and that was 2 yrs ago.

What would you suggest I do about the diarrhoea, I am seeing my hospice nurse on Friday 1st ,arch, should I wait for her, should I seek question and answer before then

Many   thanks

  • Hello and thanks for posting,

You are probably best to wait to ask the advice of your hospice nurse to be honest. They do have experience in symptom control and bowel medications.

Try and drink regular fluids to replace any fluids lost through having diarrhoea. If you think it is getting worse, or you have an increase in tummy pain, then do ring NHS 111 for further medical advice, or contact your GP.

I hope that you get this sorted out soon,

    Best wishes,

    Vanda
