I am being forced to work outdooor at hottest time of day in summer months
Hello Spudboy and thanks for posting
There is information about sun safety here. Whilst in an ideal world people would stay out of the mid day sun at the hottest times of the year this isn't always possible for everyone. There are measures that can be taken to reduce exposure to the UV rays such as covering up with loose long sleeved/legged clothing, using high factor sunscreen and wearing a hat and sunglasses.
If you are overly concerned about your risk and individual situation I suggest speaking with your employer to see if they can also put some things in place to protect you. They may be able to provide a shaded area or covering whilst you work outside or change the times you work outside but dependent on your work you do this may be limited.
Please get back to us if you need any more information or support. You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.
Best wishes,
Naomi
