Hello and thanks for your post,
I am sorry to hear about the acne you are getting. I can understand that this must be very uncomfortable.
Unfortunately it can be one of the side effects with some of the chemotherapies that you are given. As I am sure you have already been told use tepid water and a very gentle cleanser that contains no perfume. Make sure that you keep the skin well moisturised. Drink plenty of fluids and avoid touching your face as this can sometimes make the acne worse.
I would report back to your team to let them know that your acne is not improving. They may suggest you are referred to a dermatologist so you can get their input about other creams that you can apply. You could also speak to the pharmacist in your local chemist to see what they suggest.
Macmillan have some general tips on how to cope with acne which you may find helpful here.
You have posted in 'ask the nurses' but if you post on another thread or start your own then you may hear from others in a similar situation.
I do hope that as time goes on the acne gets better.
If you would like to chat to one of the nurses on the helpline then you are welcome to get back to us or give us a ring. Our helpline number is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and we are here Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm.
All the best,
Catherine
