New Diagnosis

Hello, I've been given news that not only do I have c in 1 lung (left), but right lung too. No info on size on right, only on left I think 7mm.. can't remember all as still processing. Complained for over 3 years of pain in right rib n felt not listened too. Already treated for Endometrial c n brachytherapy.

I realise I have to wait for OC team to contact me to give me definitive Dersingham, etc. and treatment plan and I'm upset n worried naturally.. how much time do I have and/or will I go straight to palliative care?

Feel like it's game over!

  • Waiting for a reply even though I know its too early ...

  • Hello and thank you for your post,

I am very sorry to hear about your situation and I can appreciate that this is a worrying time for you.

I am sorry but until you have been seen by your cancer team will your questions about your prognosis (outlook) be answered, we are not able to answer them.

Your team will have discussed your cancer diagnosis at the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meeting. This is where all the information known about you and your cancer will be used to decide what your prognosis is and what treatment can be given.

Waiting is never easy so I hope you know more about your situation soon and that you have support from family and friends. You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Take care,

    Caroline
