Hi everyone.
For about 6 weeks now I had swelling on the left side of my neck and it just felt weird, like something was in there. Up until yesterday it was only the left (that I'd noticed) or maybe the left side was just more swollen. Anyway I went to the doctors and saw a paramedic person. He said he could see it as soon as I walked in.
It is worse today because its now swollen both sides and I can feel a lump right above my collar bone on the leftAnyway he had a feel and looked in my throat. He asked me about any other symptoms I've been having. Loss of appetite, sweating episodes (like soaking wet) I keep clearing my throat, I have a weird rash on my neck, and bizarrely my skin has been itching (I haven't changed soap powder or anything like that)
He said we will get bloods taken which is next week. He said he could refer me to the lymph clinic but reassured me that if its anything sinister the bloods would show that. He referred me anyway as he said it could be a long wait. So I'm assuming he doesn't think it's sinister right? Because he would have likely ordered bloods there and then and did an urgent referral?
It is worse today because its now swollen equally on both sides and I can feel a lump right above my collar bone on the left. It's maybe an inch in diameter and isn't really movable. Feels a bit rubbery. I also have a similar one in my neck which I didn't notice until today.
Up to yesterday it felt more like a large muscle right down the length of my neck but I hadn't really felt lumps if you know what I mean.
I have GAD (generalised anxiety disorder) so I can't help panicking about this. I'm also a single parent to a disabled child so that's making me even more anxious because God forbid if something should happen to me.
Am I worrying over nothing??
Sorry for rambling on.
