I am sorry to hear about your husband's situation.

I am not sure from your post whether your husband has been started on any treatment such as a hormone treatment which does happen in some cases when a patient is diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer and they are waiting to see the consultant.

Either way I would try and speak to the GP about the pain he is having. They may be able to try and bring the appointment forward but do see what they advise. We have some information about treatment for advanced prostate cancer which you can see here.
