Red spot on breast, prickly sensation

I have a red raised pimple type spot on the upper quadrant of my left breast, present for several weeks. Not caused by ill fitting bra or irritated by bra strap/cup. I wouldn’t say it’s painful, but experiencing a strange, prickly sensation. Sometimes I feel a lump but then I don’t. I think I’m just imagining it, and going mad.
However, I have been on HRT for nearly 3 years. Is it worth getting checked out as I don’t want to make an appointment with GP and be told I’m being paranoid. I am 51 years old this year.
Many Thanks for reading this ️

  • Hello Jurado, I would always go and have any changes checked, great if it is nothing to worry about . Don’t ever feel you are wasting their time .

It probably is nothing to worry about ,but for your peace of mind ,have it looked at .

    All the best xx

  • Hi and thank you for your post

I am sorry to learn that you are worried about an area on your breast. Many people contact us because they are concerned that symptoms they have might be caused by cancer. We are unable to diagnose you and the best advice we can give is to go and see your doctor. Your doctor will understand how distressing this is to you and will not feel you are being paranoid.

Although this can sometimes seem frightening, in most cases the symptoms will be caused by something else other than cancer. But it is always sensible to get any problems you have checked out to be on the safe side.

I hope this reply is helpful. If we can help in any other way please do contact us again. If you would prefer to speak to one of the nurses directly, you can telephone us on 0808 800 4040. We are here from Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm.

    kind regards,

    Tina
