Im worried i have cancer

I have had a CT scan following a few episodes of abdominal pain and its shown up a thickening area in my bowel wall. Im having a colonoscopy on friday but terrified it means i have bowel cancer. I have no obvious symptoms apart from the pain. No bleeding but have IBS  so my bowel is all over the place anyway. I sent a fit test off last summer which was normal. Am i panicking for no reason?

    I am sorry to hear about the symptoms you are having and the further tests you are needing to find out more.

    Unfortunately until the colonoscopy has been carried out no one really can say what this pain or thickening is being caused by.

    There can be many reasons for this and it won't always be cancer so try not to over think this until you have all the information.
