  • Hello Lobelia and thanks for the post

I am sorry to hear you had treatment for breast cancer a couple of years ago and aren't feeling so good in yourself at the moment.

Peripheral neuropathy as you will know is caused by some chemotherapy drugs and whilst these symptoms can ease after the treatment has finished, for some patients the side effects can be more long lasting.

If you have noticed a change or worsening of the neuropathy or any other symptoms that are persisting it is important to let your breast team and your GP know.  They can assess what may be going on. If needed they can give you medication to try and manage your symptoms as well.

There is information about breast cancer and peripheral neuropathy here.

Please get back to us if you need any more information or support.  You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Best wishes,

    Naomi
