Had total hysterectomy plus 2 pelvic lymph nodes that were pos but only checked via eye scope every 6 months for return? Feel I should be having ultrasound to check for spread considering pos lymph nodes
The way women are followed up after treatment for endometrial cancer is individualised so it can vary. We have information on our website that explains this here.
Sometimes rather than arranging a scan after a set period of time, instead a scan would be arranged promptly if someone experiences new symptoms that could suggest the possibility of the cancer returning. But I think an internal physical examination and a scope test as a check up is useful too.
If you remain concerned about not having a scan it would be a good idea to contact the hospital team or specialist nurse to check with them in case it has been overlooked, and also to go over what should be happening with your follow care in the future.
