Endometrial 7.5mm

I've been referred to have a hysteroscopy after irregular bleeding of 4 days after none for 15 months. I'm 55 and have not had any children. For the last 8 months I've had trouble with what I thought was my hip but the physio says there's no issue with the joint, but it could be the muscle (i am on a waiting list for the hospital to get this chevked) I get shooting pains and have trouble walking even short distances sometimes. Could the thickened endometrial have anything to do with this? My first scan was just 1 week ago.

  • Hello and thanks for posting,

Unfortunately, I can't provide you with a clear answer about this. I can appreciate the thought of them being connected, but most of the time these sort of things are not related.

On balance of overall probability, it is far more likely to be a muscular skeletal issue, such as back discs affecting your back or pelvis, (Sacro iliac joint) than a related womb issue.

These type of problems are more common as we get older. Shooting pains do suggest a back or pelvis issue, which is maybe what the physiotherapist may have said. Ask your GP if they can try to bring your hospital appointment forward, or if they can request any scans or x rays of your back and pelvis.

    Kind regards,

    Vanda

  • Thank you so much for replying. I will ask my doctor to see if he can help with speeding up the referral for my hip pain.
