Teeth going weird

Hi

I've had a mastectomy and two prior lumpetomoys.with lymph node completely removeal surgery next week.

I wasn't offered chemotherapy as my Onco Type DX report scored 16 which was too low for me to benefit.

Just want to know is it because of funding that it wasn't offered or is it really not beneficial.

  • Oh and I've noticed my teeth going dull and grey ...is that normal

  • Hello Sutobeti and thank you for posting

I am sorry to hear about your previous and upcoming surgery for breast cancer.

The sole reason for a Onco type DX test is to predict who has the greatest risk of the cancer returning in the future. The results are then discussed between the specialist and patient to decide whether chemotherapy is needed or not.

Decisions like these are not based on monetary cost but rather the risks of treatment versus the benefit and this will be different dependent on the Onco type DX score.

If your team felt there was the slightest benefit for you to be having chemotherapy they would be offering it to you.

Do talk this through with your breast care nurse or doctor if you still feel anxious about this decision.

I hope everything goes well next week

    Take care

    Naomi
