Sorry to read that. I don’t think anyone is able to give you the answer. It would depend what hospital you were with/how busy they are….have you asked them what the wait time is? Hopefully they will have a cancellation and they can fit you in soon.
Hello and thanks for your post
I’m sorry your surgery has been cancelled. This must be very upsetting and incredibly stressful for you.
I wasn't sure if you have been given an explanation as to why this has happened. Sometimes it may be due to staff shortages within the NHS. You don't mention if you have been given an alternative date for your surgery. Only the hospital can tell you how long you may have to wait.
Waiting to find out more is very stressful and it is natural for people to go through a series of emotions whilst waiting. Do talk to specialist nurse ( if you have one) or your GP to see if they can offer you any further advice.
I hope you don't have to wait too much longer. Please get back to us if you need any more information or support. You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.
Kind regards,
Celene
