Hello and thanks for your post
Most moles don't develop into skin cancer. But there are certain things to look out for in moles that we need to report to the doctor, You can read more about them here. They don't necessarily mean skin cancer however they do need to be properly assessed in case this is what is causing them. GP's are very experienced at looking at skin conditions and are able to decide if someone needs further tests.
As well as the ABCDE rule the NHS website has a mole assessment tool here.
I hope this helps. Give us a ring if you would like to talk things over. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.
Kind regards,
Celene
Hi Celene, I was wondering about symptoms in addition to the ABCDE? Are there aby eg tiredness, swollen lymph nodes etc?
Hi and thank you for your further post,
The symptoms you have mentioned can be caused by several things other than cancer.
If you were having any symptoms that are persistent and causing you concern, we would always advise it is best to be safe and get checked by your GP. They can then do an assessment and request any further tests for example, a blood test if this was felt necessary.
Take care, all the best
