Carrying a lot of thought's.

Hi Bobbybear  here I lost my wife on 4th of January 2023 to stage 4 Cancer. My life has not been very good for me since then or before. Let me explain. Both My wife and myself was told we both had cancer on the same day. Oh my God. You cannot believe this. But it's true. My Wife was Stage 4 lung Cancer. Terminal. Mine was lung and to be operated on - they took about a third of my lung Away. This was followed by I believe 4cycles of chemotherapy. When my wife passed away little did I know my Cancer had found its way into my liver. A Pet scan showed up more than one tumor. So they changed their original treatment to go with Immunotherapy which I'm on now. I was told Control not Cure.

  • Hello Bobbybear and thanks for posting on here

I am so sorry to hear you lost your wife to cancer last year, this must be such a difficult time for you alongside having to deal with your own diagnosis and treatment.

I hope you have had some support around you this past year but do reach out for more help if you need it or are struggling to come to terms with everything that has happened.

Unfortunately when cancer spreads to other parts of the body it is often regarded as advanced cancer and whilst these may be treated, it is often to control the cancer rather than being able to cure it ( get rid of the cancer completely).

Do speak with your own specialist nurse or doctor at the hospital you are being treated to get a better understanding of your situation and to ask what to expect moving forward.

You are very welcome to get back to us if you need any more information or support.  You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and we're here weekdays 9-5.

    Take care,

    Naomi
