Failed Hysteroscopy

Hello, I’ve had two failed hysteroscopy due to scarring from an endometrial ablation. I am post menopausal  (53 years old) and had some bleeding, pelvic pain, lower abdominal cramps and thickened womb lining 14mm - identified on a transvaginal scan.  The doctor will discuss  my case at their next review this week and advise on next steps. She mentioned possible MRI scan or hysterectomy.  Just wondering if anyone else has been in this position?

  • Hello and thank you for your post,

I am sorry to hear about the different tests that you have had and can understand how frustrating it can be when it has not been straightforward for you.

Hopefully, when the team of doctors meet to discuss your case they will have more of an idea as to what to suggest. it is not unusual to have further tests such as an MRI which may make the doctor's decision clearer as to what to do next.

Even though it is helpful and supportive to hear from other members of the forum it is also worth bearing in mind that everyone's situation may be slightly different so it is difficult to compare one person with another.  You could always post on another thread where you may get more replies.

If you would like to chat through any of this with one of the helpline nurses then you are welcome to give us a call.
