  • Hello Taylor192274 and thanks for posting

I am sorry to hear about your partner's situation and appreciate what a difficult time this must be for you both.

Unfortunately as no one on the forum is directly involved in your partners care, it is difficult to comment on what this diagnosis means for him and what may happen next.

We always suggest that patients and their loved ones speak with the specialist doctor or nurse about the plan of treatment and what they hope the treatment will achieve.

Unfortunately stage 4 cancers are generally much harder to treat and often any treatment given is with a view to control and manage the cancer for as long as possible rather than cure.

Do speak together with the hospital team soon so you can get a better understanding of this situation.

Please get back to us if you need any more information or support.  You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Take care

    Naomi
